Before we get started I'll send you a short questionnaire to complete online, this gives me an insight into where you are in your downsizing journey.
We'll work over Zoom, or if Skype or WhatsApp, and you can give me a tour of your home and we can talk about each room.
During these four 1:1 Zoom sessions are designed to get you up and running on your downsizing plans, each session usually comprises:
Session 1: Identifying your starting point based on the information in your questionnaireSession
2: Decluttering - getting you started on one category
Session 3: Decluttering - working through another categorySession
4: Progress and next steps
That's completely normal! When you've been in your home for a long time it can feel overwhelming, but I know you'll feel so much better once you've made a start.
Don't forget we'll only be working together for an hour and a half, so we'll be working in smaller categories so you have time to get used to sorting and making decisions! You'll be able to carry on in your own time before we meet up again.
Sometimes it can also be a struggle physically, if this is the case you're more than welcome to invite a trusted family member or friend to join us via Zoom to help you lift and move items. We can talk about where items can be rehomed/recycled too!
Good question! Everyone works at their own pace. I will guide you through the decision making process on at least 2 categories, and this will give you the confidence to do more at your own pace!
I think you'll be surprised at how much progress you'll make.
I will also give you ideas on where and how to rehome your decluttered items. Remember, this is a kick-start program - so If you enjoy the process of decluttering via zoom there's always the option of booking in additional 1:1 decluttering sessions.
Good question!
It will also depend on whether you are packing yourself, or if you are planning to get your removalists to pack for you, and also which stage of the process you're currently at.
If you are planning an international move your removalists will need to do the packing - this is to do with the shipping insurance.
When it comes to packing to move I always recommend good quality double-walled packing boxes.Remember, your boxes will be piled on top of each other in a moving van so the contents need to be well packed, and well protected!
My hours of work are typically Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (UK time). Occasionally I can work outside these hours by special arrangement, this will incur an additional charge of 25%.
